Hey my people..

Time is running out and it sometimes feel like the work is getting done or finishing off.
With the Studiowork getting there, there still Constructions and Detail that needs 2

Then there is Structure that just came in at the last minute and tht needs to be finished
before 1st June.

With the World Cup coming closer so does the portfolio, and 20 days to go.

The changing and the upgrading of Technology and programmes available on the market.

The program of choice is 3D max. Going thru a short class on how this program works when it comes 2 3d animations is really great.

The exercise is to use a 3D that we used for our Phone Kiosk and do a movement animation around it.

The exercise doesn't look difficult until you start with it....

They people..
With time came close and working not finishing off at all, there are very very few sleeps
for the month of May..

It this time of the term that time just isn't enough 2 get all the work done.
Well people we need 2 step it up for no disappointment at the end of the term.

The entrance of any place or Lodge says alot about this place..
It can be either very welcome on very frigthening..lol

The purpose of this assignment was o design a Entrance to a Lodge
or a place of your choice.

I choose that of a Lodge in the North of Namibia, 80km away for the
the Capital city Windhoek called Sneyriver Lodge...

First of its Kind on the African Continent...




The 2010 World Cup being hosted in South Africa has brought of limelight on the country.
With alot of things happening, with recessing behind our back with are going along, exceptially with the building of the Staduims and the renovations of some of them.

There are 10 Stadium for the World Cup...




From these 10 Staduims 6 of them where constructed....
And my favourite Stadium of them is Moses Mabhiha in Durban, Kwazulu Natal.








The stadium was named after a hero of the working class. It is located adjacent
the ABSA Stadium in the Kings Park Sporting Precinct, a site located in Stamford
Hill, is yet to be another world class multi-purpose stadium set to make possible
successful history in the 2010 Fifa World Cup.


- The staduim will host 70 000 spectator seats.
- Demountable seating will be removed to reduce the capacity to 54 000
- 50 percent of the seats will be accessible from the main entrance while

This Stadium is owned by the South African Football Association and put to
house and cater for a variety of sporting activities such as rugby, cricket and
athletics.

Guess we all have our favourites but this is mine..

There are examples of the kind of Old Mutual Buildings around the country.
I have being researching 3 different types of cladding materials...

There can always just be one winner or is are there two....and the winnner is?????

In the industry today 3D modeling are the ways of bringing forward the buildings or
object must better, making it look real and must better understood.

With the improvement in technology the building of physical models are sometimes
very time consuming but it is still done by may companies..

There quite alot of these programmes in the market.
I just choose four that i think fall in the top 5, but you can differ with me....

3 D Studio Max

With the new program new challengers starts and new headaches...
Starting with this new programs there is way of making a person go back
to what you know and comfortable with.
Having started with 3D max, makes my current program look like a joke,
with the way of complication.

The first exercise give was the lighting tutotial, of which we were given
four different room, with different light pionts.
1. hanging light
2. downlights
3. wall lights
4. daylight thru a window.

This exercise really took alot of patience from me cause it really
was not easy.

After everything this was the complete lighting tutorial.

One of our second project for constructions and detailing was to design a Gate house for a lodge or a game ranch. The brief was to choose any place where this gate house was to place.

I choose to do my Gate house for a game lodge in Namibia, near Okahandja.
The entrance gate had to be constructed using gumpoles and some brickwork..
It went thru' different stages of critts till the final one was approved.

The following was the drawing submitted.

Starting with the new sustainable research centre, there are alot of things came about energy, it usage and ways of saving...

That is what we stand to do with in the next studio work project.
Good research need to be done for this project.
Research about sustainability and that of solar, wind and water energy.

The always say the way to man heart is thru hes stomach and that to a women's heart is a good men...lol And a way to a great 3D drawing is a great program or programs.


Starting of with computers for the year is to get a example of a interior picture of a lounge, kitchen or bedroom....

We then have to us any 3 dimensional drawing program to draw up the view from the example copy.








from the following images i started experience some problems with the lighting and not all of the objects that where not in the programs library.

For the first project stepping in, we were asked to design a sustainable market stall, at newly designed Govan Mbeki precint.
Going thru same crits and doing research about the different kinds of material that could be used and the best way of using them.

The design process went thru alot of yes and maybe and final came to, take this and make a bit likable and easy to transport.

The final product came up to the following sketches and then to the final product.
